Quiet Adventures Symposium
The 31th Annual Quiet Adventures Symposium will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at the MSU Farm Bureau Pavilion (4301 Farm Lane, Lansing, MI, on the Michigan State University campus) between 9:00 am and 5:30 pm. We had to change from the first weekend in March due to Pavilion scheduling. The Symposium is hosted by the nonprofit Quiet Adventures Society, formerly the Quiet Water Society.

Headwaters Trails Owl Presentation
The Howell Nature Center will present owls and possibly other forms of wildlife that we can view and learn about their habitat. Potluck dinner at 5PM followed by the presentation at ~6PM.

Keepers of the Shiawassee
The Keepers of the Shiawassee, Inc. (established in 2009), are a 501(c)(3) non-profit volunteer group, located in southern Genesee County, Michigan.The Keepers are advocates of the Shiawassee River, the Shiawassee River Trail Coalition, and the communities the River flows through. We sponsor paddling opportunities, organize/perform cleanups, conduct aquatic macroinvertebrate water monitoring, install signage, educate, help to maintain and create canoe/kayak launches, march in local parades, and much more. Each year, we participate in many community events in the Linden/Fenton area and beyond.

- Encourage environmental stewardship through preservation, responsible use, maintenance, restoration, water monitoring and testing
- Identify invasive species and pollution sources
- Provide educational opportunities through various media resources, community activities/events and programs
- Improve access to the Shiawassee River with new and/or improved launches and related enhancements
- Support and promote the Shiawassee River as a designated U.S. National Park Service “National Water Trail”, a State of Michigan “State Water Trail” and formerly recognized as the “Shiawassee River Heritage Water Trail”.
